Kosher Dining
Food is central to Jewish life – it’s how we mark celebrations, build community, and connect to our identity. As the saying goes: “they tried to kill us, we survived, let’s eat!” At Harvard Hillel, we’re proud to make kosher dining easily accessible on campus.
Thanks to our partnership with Harvard University Dining Services (HUDS), kosher food is available to all students as part of the standard meal plan. Hot kosher meals are served at Hillel twice daily during the academic year, providing thousands of students with delicious, nutritious options throughout their time at Harvard.
Meal Schedule
Lunch (11:30 am to 2:00 pm) and dinner (5:00 pm to 7:30 pm) are served daily during the academic school year and are available to all students on Harvard’s undergraduate meal plan. Weekly Friday Shabbat dinners and Saturday Shabbat lunches are also served.
Additional Kosher Dining Options
For Undergraduate Students
Harvard Hillel is not your only option for kosher food at Harvard. Every Harvard dining hall has a Kosher Corner which, upon request, includes frozen meals, cold cuts, cheeses, tuna fish, etc., as well as a kosher microwave. Much of the food in the dining halls is certified kosher, including many breakfast cereals, an extensive salad bar, many breads, fresh fruit, and beverages. Hillel also provides bag lunches for pickup (you must order a lunch with a paper form at dinner at Hillel the day before.)
Harvard Graduate Students
Harvard Hillel hosts Graduate Student Shabbat Dinners monthly during the academic year, free of charge for all registered Harvard graduate students. Family members need to pre-pay their meals. Contact Moriah Lit for more information.
Community and Non-Harvard Students
The dining hall is open to the community and students from other schools. Reservations are not required for dinner Sunday through Thursday. Please pay the meal checker at the entrance to the dining hall. Credit cards are accepted at the entrance to the Hillel dining hall Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Shabbat and Holiday meals require reservations and prepayment. Master Card and Visa accepted for Shabbat and Holiday meals. Please contact Linda Mulligan or 617-495-4695 to reserve.
